Transitioning from high school to college is such an exciting experience and joining a fraternity or sorority makes that exciting experience even better. Four years may not seem like a long time but from freshmen year to senior year, we all do a lot of growing up. Sometimes it’s nice to hear advice from the older members in our chapters to know what works and what doesn’t work when dealing with the every day life as a college student. Step Up Or Step Aside
Every year, 11 out of 13 Pan-Hellenic sororities at LSU participate in Step Up or Step Aside, a step show held downtown at the Baton Rouge River Center. Each PHC sorority is coached by a sorority or fraternity from the National Pan-Hellenic Council at LSU. This year, Step Up or Step Aside took place on Friday, October 9th and was yet again, a huge success.

Whether you love recruitment or you hate it, you still have to be a part of it. During recruitment, we are taught how to converse with potential new members, how to make them feel comfortable, and how to make them want to join our chapter. Here’s What Rush Workshop is Actually Like
Rush workshop is a week for sororities to prepare for recruitment week. Every sorority has three types of girls: the ones who looooove recruitment, the ones who despise recruitment, and the ones who only show up so they don’t get fined. Even though sororities might look perfect when recruitment week begins, the seven days prior were so far from perfection it isn’t even funny. There is drama, tears, yelling, and a whole lot of bouncing and clapping.
